Welcome message:

I have had the pleasure of serving our Florida Chapter for over 20 years. As the Chair for the Education Committee, it is my privilege to oversee scholarly programs designed to foster the academic and professional development of medical students, residents and early career physicians. Our chapter is proud to be one of the very few chapters to host a separate meeting in the Spring dedicated exclusively to residents and medical students. Our Spring and Fall meetings offer a unique opportunity to present scholarly activities, showcase medical knowledge and network with peers and mentors from across the state. Our poster competitions highlight clinical research, case reports, quality improvement projects, and high-value care among other categories. Doctor’s Dilemma competitions challenge residents in a fun and dynamic way preparing the winning team to compete at the national ACP meeting.

I would like to invite all residents, medical students and early career physicians to take advantage of all the resources and opportunities provided by our chapter. If you are not a member, I would encourage you to join.  If you are a member, attend the meetings and participate in the various activities and workshops. Your participation in the Chapter will not only enhance your academic journey but it will also contribute to your leadership and professional development.

I look forward to seeing you.

Welcome message:

Greetings from the ACP Florida Chapter! As a long-time member of this proud organization, I am pleased to connect with you through this online platform. The Florida ACP has been a leader in advocacy and education for many years, and I have been particularly involved in its academic efforts, an area in which our chapter excels. For example, the annual Doctors Dilemma® competition originated with the Florida ACP and was recognized with an Evergreen Award by the National ACP for this achievement.

We are also one of the few chapters that hosts two meetings per year. Our spring meeting is dedicated to supporting students and residents, who present posters on research, quality improvement, clinical vignettes, and more. Additionally, we hold the preliminary rounds of Doctors Dilemma, often featuring up to 25 resident teams in competition.

The success of our academic meetings stems not only from the hard work of our students and residents but also from the tremendous support of our faculty. Each meeting, we are fortunate to have numerous faculty members participate in poster judging, mentorship, and various other roles within our education committee. There are many opportunities for faculty involvement, and we encourage your participation in these enriching academic events.
